America is fighting a war on three fronts. The first is primarily external; a conflict waged against known foreign adversaries based outside our borders. The second front is against the domestic enemies of our nation, actors actively working as a fifth column within our borders to sabotage American values, society, culture, and politics. These two ideologically misaligned forces have learned to pragmatically use one another to amplify their harmful effect. They work together to accomplish their shared goal, which is the destruction of the United States as a global power, American values, and the American way of life our government serves to safeguard.
The third front is our government’s repeated scoring of “own goals,” i.e., the self-sabotage of policies that weaken our nation’s vitality and our ability to resist over the long-term the forces allied against the country.
The first front is fought against foreign adversaries such as China, whose leaders long ago—silently and not so silently—determined to engage in total warfare—i.e., using non-military means such as cyber and information warfare, drugs and proxy agents, intellectual property theft, currency manipulation, and state subsidization of industries competitive with American business. China also wages a quiet but effective “cold” war by leveraging access to our educational, scientific, commercial and other institutions—to weaken the U.S. economy and monetary system, deplete its military effectiveness, and degenerate its society from within. The American public was slow to accept that the nation was under threat and actively engaged in geopolitical conflict in part because U.S. leaders denied it for so long. This is finally changing, as Americans and the leaders of both main political parties are increasingly aware of the challenges we face in turning the tide of Chinese and other foreign influence within our borders.
The second front is homegrown. Since at least the 1960s, America’s educational system—at all levels, primary, secondary, and the university—has increasingly handed over the keys of the insane asylum to the inmates. What were once considered radical or fringe ideas are now mainstream. Postmodernism, critical Theory, Marxism, atheism, extremes of Feminist thought, identity and gender politics, all materialist and essentially nihilist, have filled the vacuum left when God, religion, fatherhood, and cultural norms of morality were violently shown the exit door of academia.
Eventually, Big Media joined the chorus of subversives. Two of our formerly trusted institutions were thus captured. What remains of certain quarters of both is a death cult that hates traditional American values such as marriage, family, religion, patriotism, etc., and instead celebrates murder in many forms and the tearing down of traditional institutions and values.
These domestic adversaries have allied with foreign actors in pursuit of the same goal. They want our country divided, torn by internal conflicts, whether racial, political, sexual … or whatever basis can be found for mutual hate. They want a civil war. They want to tear down our society. These extremists don’t want to debate any more than did the Bolsheviks or the Nazis. Their zealots have proven to be incapable of fighting with the pen, so they resort to the sword.
The third front, the propensity to shoot ourselves in our own feet, was evidenced by the mass illegal immigration of tens of millions of people—many of which were otherwise unemployable but military age males—across our Southern Border under the Biden administration. This invasion brought in the worst form of illegal immigrants, including criminals and politically or culturally hostile agents, such as many radicalized Islamicist men from Muslim nations. Some migrants ejected by other countries were intentionally sent and used by the organized crime cartels for particular purposes, especially as mules to move deadly drugs such as fentanyl and other synthetic opioids (which kill over 100,000 Americans each year) and to escort millions of kidnapped women and children used for sex trafficking and slave labor. These illegal immigrants were to be placed in positions throughout American communities where they could operate freely to destabilize our society, just as they have already done in western Europe.
The U.S.’s “own goals” were also represented by the same administration that thwarted our domestic energy industry, sparking double digit inflation; that stumbled into a ham-fisted exit from Afghanistan, making a mockery of U.S. credibility at home and abroad; and that encouraged DEI policies that sought to void America’s traditional culture of merit and competence and legitimize sexual perversion. While each of these strategic errors have been reversed by the current administration, the vestigial consequences of our follies remain.
What lingers in our tendency towards national self-sabotage is our government’s refusal or inability to address what I have described as the Deficit-Debt-Inflation Doom Loop. With over $37 trillion(!) of national debt, an amount growing by the trillions every year and primarily used to fund trillion-dollar annual federal deficits, we are grossly weakening our monetary and financial position and courting runaway inflation and dollar debasement in a time when we should be stockpiling reserves to prepare for future conflict.
As an example, reckless funding of proxy wars in Ukraine and elsewhere not only depletes our military resources, it stokes the inflationary fire from added debt, as hundreds of billions of taxpayer dollars literally go up in flames. War is always inflationary. As Cicero reportedly quipped, “the sinews of war are infinite money.” Eventually this will lead to a credit crisis for the U.S. just as it has for warring nations since at least the Roman empire, and there is no one who will come to our rescue.
The U.S. government lacks the will to resolve the deficit-debt issue, knowing that austerity would likely result in severe recession and political upheaval. No democratically elected official has the stomach for it, and the voters won’t brook the suffering when they can just kick the politicians out. So our only hope to navigate the looming credit crisis is to debase the debt by allowing inflation to run.
At the same time, we look towards a national productivity miracle involving reshoring of manufacturing, continued leadership in Artificial Intelligence (AI) and other high tech, and rebuilding our domestic energy infrastructure and independence. The so-called Fourth Industrial Revolution, led by AI and other cutting edge technologies, may be more important than most of us understand or give credit towards. So here I take courage. Despite the current appearance of labor market weakness, which is in part a cleanup from the previous administration’s propensity to manipulate the truth through bogus statistics, we are setting the stage for a new era of economic growth and productivity enhancements unlike anything seen since the years following World War II. By its nature, reindustrialization will benefit Main Street, not just Wall Street.
I am also encouraged to see what feels like millions of previously zombified people waking up from the death cult. They are beginning to see the world for what it is, like someone unplugged from the Matrix. They want hope and a better way. This is found in returning to faith, to family, to love of country, and to the foundational ideas that shaped the nation. It’s time for the millions of Americans with common sense to put away their phones, break the hypnosis of social media, and act locally to take the keys away from the lunatics now commanding the heights (and lowlands alike) of media and education in communities across the country.
Ours is a national battle we cannot afford to lose, and one which we can’t continue to fight on three fronts. We cannot make our foreign adversaries go away, but we can stop the national sabotage brought about by self-defeating government policies. And we can drain the ideological swamp that has led to so much spiritual and cultural “malaria” in recent years.
